    Charles Garnier was the architect of the ' Academy of Music and Dance ' . Let ' s talk about some of the elements of the construction and the interior.

    ------------------ Behind the exuberant decorations, the architect of the opera house uses the latest construction techniques. He uses iron and cast iron that he hide under stone, marble, plaster and stucco. All the masory floors and frameworks are made of metal. Similary, the auditorium is made up of metal assemblies to make it easy and quick to install and light. On the outside, gold is meticulosly applied to highlight the work of the sculptors. As soon as you walk trough the doors, you enter another dimension. The stage cover an area of 1350, m2. The hall is toped by a dome decorat by Chagall, from which hang an 8 m chandelier with 340 lights. The Grand Staircase, with two revolutions, is remarkable for its layout, height and volume of its nave.
    With its prestigious dance school, several generations have been teach, and since 1875, the Paris Opera Ballet has seen stars come and go.
