    Use the verb "prefer".

     

     

    🔹 I) I prefer

     

    With things :
    I prefer coffee to chocolate.


    With verbs and infinitive clauses:

    I prefer to have coffee rather than (to) have chocolate.


    With verbs and -ING forms:
    I prefer having coffee rather than having chocolate.

     


    🔹 II)  Suggesting preferences:
    = I would prefer
    = I would rather

     


     

     would prefer + noun

    I'd prefer a big ice-cream!

     

    would prefer + to + verb

    I'd prefer to eat a big ice-cream!

     

    Would rather + verb

    I'd rather buy a big ice-cream!


     


    🔹 III) Suggesting dislikes

    = I would prefer not + to + verb

    or : = I would rather not + verb

     

    I'd prefer not to eat that cookie.

    I'd rather not eat that cookie.
